Replacement windows

Replace the whole window, not just the glass

When frames are old, warped or letting in draughts, new glass alone will not fix it. We replace the complete system, glass, frames, seals and fittings, so the window performs properly and looks right.

  • uPVC — practical, low maintenance, wide range of colours
  • Aluminium — slim, strong frames with a clean modern edge
  • Timber & timber-effect — for period homes and conservation areas
  • Double & triple glazing — warmer rooms, less outside noise

Styles: casement, sash-style, bay, tilt-and-turn, fixed glazing, French windows and heritage replacements.

Your options

Frames and glazing, explained

Two decisions shape every window: what the frame is made of, and how many panes of glass sit inside it. Here is what each one actually gives you.

Frame materials

Four frame materials

Cut through any window and this is what you find. The frame decides the look, the upkeep and a good part of the cost.

Cutaway sections comparing uPVC, timber, aluminium and composite window frames side by side

uPVC

The practical all-rounder. Warm, secure and it never needs painting. Available in a wide range of colours and woodgrain finishes.

Best forMost homes, on most budgets

Timber

Real wood, with the depth and character that comes with it. Needs occasional repainting, and rewards it. May be required in conservation areas, subject to the property and local planning rules.

Best forPeriod and listed properties

Aluminium

Strong enough to hold a much slimmer frame, so you get more glass and less border. Crisp modern lines, especially in anthracite grey.

Best forBig panes and a contemporary look

Composite

Usually aluminium-clad timber: wood on the inside, weatherproof aluminium outside. Warmth of timber indoors without the outdoor upkeep. Other composite constructions exist too.

Best forBest of both, at a higher spend
Glazing

Single, double or triple

Each extra pane adds another sealed cavity, usually filled with argon rather than plain air. That trapped gas is what slows heat escaping.

Cutaway sections comparing single, double and triple glazed window units

Single glazing

One pane of glass. Found in older properties and outbuildings. Cold in winter, prone to condensation and offers little against noise.

TypicallyWhat we are replacing

Double glazing

Two panes with a sealed cavity between them. The standard for UK homes: noticeably warmer rooms, less condensation and a quieter interior.

TypicallyThe right choice for most homes

Triple glazing

Three panes and two sealed cavities. The strongest thermal performance of the three. For noise specifically, pane thickness and acoustic laminated glass matter more than pane count, so tell us if sound is your main concern.

TypicallyExposed elevations and high heat loss

Conservatories & glass rooms

More light, more space, more of the year

A conservatory changes how you use your home. Somewhere to eat, work, sit with the garden in view and still be warm in February. We build new, and we fix the ones that are not working.

  • New conservatories and contemporary glass rooms
  • Glass roof replacement and insulated roof upgrades
  • Replacement conservatory windows, frames and doors
  • Sliding and bi-folding glass doors

Styles: lean-to, Edwardian, Victorian, gable-front, contemporary glass rooms and bespoke designs.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises

Tell us what you need

Send details and a few photos of your windows, conservatory or damaged glazing.

We assess and measure

We visit, inspect the openings and measure properly before recommending anything.

You get a clear quote

A written quotation covering materials, glazing and installation. No vague figures.

We fit it properly

Your glazing is installed securely, finished neatly and the site left tidy.

Emergency boarding

Broken window? Secure the property first.

Damaged glass leaves a property exposed to weather, theft and injury. We board the opening so it is safe, then measure for permanent replacement glazing separately once things have calmed down.

  • Break-ins and attempted break-ins
  • Vandalism and smashed shopfronts
  • Accidental damage
  • Cracked or unstable glass
  • Broken glass doors
